Model Railroading is for all
Let us us not forget that ALL ABOARD 2010 is on Sat. Feb. 20 and Sun. Feb 21 2010 at the Western Development Museum.  The times are that of the museum --  10AM to 4 PM each day.  The entrance is off Lorne Avenue beyond the Exhibition.  The WDM is NOT part of the Exhibition Grounds.

Model Trains as as Hobby

 
 Model Railroading is a good hobby.  There are so many aspect to the
hobby that it tend to boggle the mind of the prospective hobbies.  

i]      Purchasing and operating the trains straight from the box.
ii]     Weathering and detailing the cars and engines.
iii]    Collecting  train sets.  ie. Orient Express, etc.
iv]    Building your layout from a plan
v]     Building from kits.
vi]    Building from scratch.
vii]   "Operating Sessions".
viii]   Protype 
ix]     Photography of layouts
x]      Photography of Protypes.

Now there is the scale: (small to larger)

          z-scale     very small 1:220
          n-scale     shelf sized  1:160
         HO-scale   very common 1:87
          On30
          O-scale    
          G-scale     Good for the garden.

It is a very complex or a simple hobby -- it is your choice.
                                                        
We are hoping to be in a mall soon, so check back to find out where and when we are there.  Until then, we are working on the layouts.
